SleekFlow vs Klaviyo for Shopify B2C brands: which one fits how your customers actually buy?

TL; DR: Quick Summary

  • Two platforms for B2C e-commerce revenue, and the real split is outbound campaigns versus inbound conversations.
  • Klaviyo is the outbound engine: email, SMS, RCS, and push built on deep e-commerce data, with AI agents on top.
  • SleekFlow is the inbound engine: AI agents that qualify, recommend, and close inside WhatsApp, Instagram DM, and live chat.
  • WhatsApp does not currently deliver marketing template messages to US phone numbers, so if your list is +1, neither platform can broadcast there.
  • Klaviyo bills on every contact it can reach. SleekFlow bills only on contacts who engage two ways.

Author's note: this comparison reflects SleekFlow's assessment. Details and pricing are accurate as of publication and change often, so verify with each provider. Full note below.

Your Klaviyo flows are working. Cart recovery pays for itself, the welcome series converts, and the Shopify data is clean. Then you check the Instagram inbox and find 40 unanswered DMs asking about sizing, and a WhatsApp thread from a customer who bought twice last year and now wants to know if you ship to Toronto.

Both of those are revenue. Only one of them is a campaign.

Both brands describe themselves in their own words. Klaviyo calls itself the "autonomous B2C CRM." SleekFlow calls itself the AI Suite for Revenue-Driving Conversations. Both now sell AI agents, both connect to Shopify, and both talk about the same B2C e-commerce buyer, which is why they end up on the same shortlist for a growing store weighing its options.

The difference is which direction the message travels. Klaviyo is built to reach out at scale from data you already own. SleekFlow is built for what happens when someone messages you first. Most comparison posts count channels and stop there, which misses the thing that decides the purchase.

Billed on monthly active contacts, counted only on two-way engagement; Free plan, Pro AI US$149/month, Premium AI US$349/month, Enterprise custom, with WhatsApp and SMS fees separate

Which platform runs the better outbound campaign engine?

Klaviyo, without much argument. It has spent more than a decade building segmentation, e-commerce flows, and attribution on top of store data, and the market has rewarded it: revenue of US$358 million in Q1 2026, up 28% year over year, with over 196,000 customers and net revenue retention of 110%.

If your growth model is "send more relevant messages to a list you own," that is the machine built for it. Reviewers consistently point at the same two things, the depth of the Shopify sync and the granularity of segmentation.

SleekFlow does run outbound. Broadcasts are unlimited on paid plans, and you can segment and schedule them across WhatsApp, SMS, and the rest. But we would not sell it as a replacement for a mature email program. If email is where 30% of your revenue comes from, keep the tool that does email properly.

What can each platform actually send to a US phone number?

This is the section most comparisons skip, and for a US brand it reshapes the whole decision. Per Meta's developer documentation, WhatsApp does not currently deliver marketing template messages to WhatsApp users with United States phone numbers, and attempting to send one returns an error. That applies to every provider, us included.

In practice, nobody is running WhatsApp promo blasts to +1 numbers right now. What still works is everything the customer starts or consents to. Utility and authentication templates go through. When a user replies, a 24-hour customer service window opens, and marketing messages sent inside that window do not count toward the per-user limit. Click-to-WhatsApp ads open a conversation too.

That plays out differently on each side.

Read the two "no" cells as a level playing field, not a knock on either tool. The question that follows is which platform does more with the conversations you can still have.

Which platform's AI agents do more?

Both ship real agents now, and the older "Klaviyo doesn't have AI agents" line is out of date. Klaviyo's K:AI Customer Agent handles service and selling, and Klaviyo states it resolves 65% of customer questions without a human and supports 113 languages, with pre-built retail skills for order status, returns, subscriptions, and loyalty.

That skill library is strong. If your ticket volume is WISMO and returns, an agent that already knows Recharge, Loop, and your Shopify orders is a short path to value.

AgentFlow comes at it from the sales end. You crawl your site and docs into a knowledge base, set playbooks, connect Shopify, HubSpot, or Salesforce, and the agent qualifies, recommends, scores the lead, and hands off with context. Every reply shows the source it used, so you audit and fix the knowledge instead of guessing at the prompt.

You can see the difference in how teams deploy it. NNIO, a Singapore electronics brand that launched in 2024, put AI agents on first response across WhatsApp, Instagram, and live chat, mostly to catch the after-hours spike when deals drop at 8 PM and enquiries run past midnight. The agent:

  • handles up to 30% of enquiries on its own, from spec and warranty questions to voucher eligibility

  • recommends products by room size, budget, and features, or offers alternatives when something is out of stock

  • captures offline retail buyers as first-party data through a WhatsApp warranty-registration flow

The team went from more than 14 people fielding enquiries to three, and retention rose 260% as better customer visibility let them re-engage past buyers.

In our view: Klaviyo's agent is stronger at closing a support case, ours is stronger at opening a sale.

Which platform is built for selling inside the conversation?

SleekFlow, and this is the sharpest line between the two. Klaviyo's model routes a shopper from the message to the site, where the store does the conversion. Ours can finish the sale in the thread.

Klaviyo's agent recommends products and applies promotions, which is real commerce work. The checkout still happens on your storefront, which for a high-AOV DTC brand with a well-optimized PDP is often exactly right.

SleekFlow keeps it in the chat. An agent pulls live catalog and order data, assembles a cart, and drops a payment link in the same thread, so a WhatsApp reply at 11 PM can become a paid order without the customer ever opening a browser tab.

If your average order needs a human conversation, sizing, fit, eligibility, or a quote, that matters. If it doesn't, it's a feature you won't use.

Which platform's pricing model fits how you actually message?

Both charge a subscription that scales with contacts, and the definition of "contact" is where the bills diverge. Klaviyo bills on active profiles, meaning any contact it can still reach. SleekFlow bills on monthly active contacts, counted only when a two-way exchange happens.

Klaviyo is free to 250 profiles. Above that, third-party pricing trackers published in 2026 put the Email plan at roughly US$20 per month at 500 profiles and around US$150 per month at 10,000, with SMS and WhatsApp drawing from separately purchased message credits. Its own Feb 2025 billing update moved the count from profiles you email to profiles you can reach, which is why list hygiene became a monthly chore for a lot of stores.

SleekFlow's pricing is public and self-serve:

  • Pro AI (US$149/month) includes 500 monthly active contacts, three users, unlimited broadcasts, unlimited Flow Builder usage, and unlimited AI under a fair use policy.

  • Premium AI (US$349/month) includes 1,000 monthly active contacts and adds analytics dashboards, API and webhook access, role-based access control, and advanced agents with integrations.

  • Enterprise AI is custom, with Salesforce and PII masking.

One detail changes the math. A contact who receives a one-way broadcast and never replies doesn't count toward your allowance, and stored contacts are free. A hosted WhatsApp number carries a monthly hosting fee on a paid plan, plus Meta's per-message fees.

A large, lightly-engaged list is cheaper to hold on our model and expensive to hold on a per-profile one.

A small list you message constantly flips it. So run both against your own numbers before you decide, and treat every figure above as needing a check against the live pages.

Which platform has stronger security and compliance?

Both clear the enterprise baseline, and the difference sits in AI governance specifically. As of Jul 2026, Klaviyo's site lists SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, PCI DSS, CCPA, and GDPR. PCI DSS is a real advantage if payment data touches your stack.

SleekFlow lists ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and ISO 42001, the management standard for responsible AI. We don't see ISO 42001 in Klaviyo's public materials, though absence from a website isn't proof of absence.

If you're buying agents that talk to customers unsupervised, ask both vendors how AI decisions get governed and logged, and confirm current certifications directly for procurement.

Can you run Klaviyo and SleekFlow together?

Yes, and for a lot of US brands that's the sensible answer rather than a fence-sit. The two systems touch different moments: Klaviyo owns the lifecycle campaign, and we own the live conversation.

The common pattern is Klaviyo driving email, SMS, and push from store data, while SleekFlow handles Instagram DM, Messenger, live chat, and WhatsApp service conversations with agents on first response. Contacts can sync between them through Zapier.

The channel split itself is proven, even inside one tool. Loft Home, a Singapore furniture retailer on Shopify Plus, divides its channels the same way on SleekFlow:

  • email for broad newsletters and the official order and shipping records

  • WhatsApp broadcasts for the bottom-of-funnel push to high-intent leads, the showroom visitors and recent browsers who haven't bought yet

  • Shopify order data surfaced in the chat sidebar, so agents reply with the live order number and product link instead of toggling tabs

The brand credits the setup with a 40% cut in daily manual work.

The cost of running both is two subscriptions and one integration to keep honest. The cost of running neither properly is a DM inbox nobody owns.

SleekFlow vs Klaviyo: the verdict

Choose Klaviyo if your revenue runs on email and SMS to a list you own, your customers are inbox-responsive, you want mature segmentation and attribution on top of deep Shopify data, and RCS or mobile push are part of the plan.

Choose SleekFlow if your revenue starts when a customer messages you: Instagram DMs, WhatsApp threads, live chat, click-to-WhatsApp ads, or cross-border markets where messaging is the default. You'll want agents that qualify and close in the thread, and pricing that only counts the people who actually talk back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SleekFlow a direct alternative to Klaviyo?

Partly. Both target B2C revenue and both ship AI agents, but they run in opposite directions. Klaviyo is outbound: email, SMS, RCS, and push to a list you own. SleekFlow is inbound: WhatsApp, Instagram DM, Messenger, and live chat. Many brands keep Klaviyo and add SleekFlow rather than switching outright.

Does Klaviyo support WhatsApp?

Yes, as a native channel since September 2025, with two-way messaging, forms, and keywords per its product page. One limit applies to every provider: per Meta's documentation, WhatsApp doesn't currently deliver marketing template messages to US phone numbers, so US brands get utility messages and customer-initiated conversations, not promo broadcasts.

Is SleekFlow or Klaviyo cheaper?

It depends how engaged your list is. Klaviyo is free to 250 active profiles, with third-party trackers reporting about US$20 a month at 500 profiles in 2026. SleekFlow's Pro AI plan is US$149 a month with unlimited AI bundled. The lever is the billing metric: Klaviyo counts every reachable contact, we count only two-way engagement.

Which one has better AI agents?

Both are credible in 2026, so it depends on the job. Klaviyo states its Customer Agent resolves 65% of customer questions autonomously, with pre-built retail skills for orders, returns, and loyalty. AgentFlow is built for the sales side: qualifying leads, recommending products, building carts, and sending payment links, with the source visible behind every reply.

Can I use Klaviyo and SleekFlow at the same time?

Yes, and many US brands should. Keep Klaviyo for email, SMS, and push lifecycle campaigns, then add SleekFlow for Instagram DM, Messenger, live chat, and WhatsApp conversations with AI agents on first response. Contacts sync through Zapier. The trade-off is two subscriptions and one integration to maintain.
