- You are ready when you can log in to Official Account Manager, see your plan and receive a test message.
A LINE business account is a LINE Official Account. You create it for free with a LINE Business ID, and you pay only when you send more messages than your plan includes.
LINE is where many customers in Japan, Thailand and Taiwan ask about prices and bookings. LY Corporation reports 100 million monthly users in Japan, 54 million in Thailand and 22 million in Taiwan at 31 March 2026.
This guide shows how to create the account, how account types and IDs differ, what each market charges, and how to connect LINE to SleekFlow.
What is a LINE business account?
A LINE business account is officially a LINE Official Account, a business profile on LINE. Customers add it as a friend and message you like any contact. Businesses use it to reply one to one, send messages to many friends, and connect the Messaging API so tools such as SleekFlow can send and receive for them.
LINE says companies from large corporations to single stores use these accounts. You can run one from a computer or from the LINE Official Account app.
What types of LINE Official Account are there?
The types depend on your market. Thailand and Taiwan list three: general, verified with a blue shield, and a green-shield type for large brands. Japan lists two, unverified and verified, with a green badge. LINE says unverified and verified accounts have largely the same basic features, and the badge shows that LINE reviewed you.
In Thailand, a verified account needs a business in a category LINE accepts, a matching account name and supporting documents.
It then becomes searchable in LINE and on Google. Since 1 April 2026, general accounts in Taiwan show no shield, where they once showed a grey one.
What is the difference between a Basic ID and a Premium ID?
Every account gets a free Basic ID, a random string after the @ sign. A Premium ID is a name you choose, such as @line_cafe. It costs USD 12 a year on LINE's page for other regions, THB 444 a year in Thailand when you buy on Android or the web, and as little as NT$2 a day in Taiwan, per LINE Taiwan. LINE doesn't sell Premium IDs in the EU, Indonesia, Singapore or the US, and Japan's Premium ID fee changes on 1 December 2026.
You can't create a duplicate ID.
You also can't change a Premium ID once you buy it, so choose with care. To change it, you cancel and buy a new one. If customers will type your ID or see it on a poster, a name you chose is easier to remember than random characters.
Is a LINE business account free?
Creating the account is free, and every plan includes free messages each month. You pay for plans with larger allowances, or for extra messages on the highest plans. Prices differ by market, and LINE counts one message for each person it reaches.
Which messages count toward your quota?
Broadcast, push, multicast and narrowcast messages count toward your plan. Reply messages don't.
LINE Taiwan also lists welcome messages, one-to-one chat, auto-replies and AI auto-replies as free. Messages to users who blocked you aren't counted. When you hit your limit, the messages aren't sent.
In other words, answering customers who message you doesn't use your quota. Marketing to them does.
What do the plans cost in each market?
LINE changes prices often, so check your market's page before you budget.
Other regions, in US dollars:
Light and Standard aren't available in the EU, Indonesia, Singapore or the US, and LINE Official Account isn't available in the EU.
Japan, in yen excluding tax:
Thailand, in baht excluding 7% VAT:
In Thailand you can't buy monthly plans in the iOS app, so use LINE Official Account Manager on the web.
Taiwan, in New Taiwan dollars excluding tax:
To change your plan, log in to LINE Official Account Manager as an admin and register a payment method. Then open Settings and Usage and billing, and choose your monthly plan. LINE's Japan and Thailand guides use these names, and LINE Taiwan calls the section the billing section.
Plan changes aren't available for accounts managed by certified sales partners or on special plans. Menu names change, so use the ones you see.
How do you create a LINE business account?
To create a LINE business account, open LINE's Create a LINE Official Account page, sign in with a LINE account or sign up with an email address, fill in the entry form and confirm it. Then log in to LINE Official Account Manager to finish. LINE recommends a computer, and the account is free to create.
What do you need before you start?
You need a LINE account or an email address for your LINE Business ID, your business details for the entry form, and a computer or a phone. LINE prefers a computer. Check your country first, because LINE Official Account isn't available in the EU.
What are the steps?
Creating the account takes 5 steps: open the sign-up page, log in or sign up for a LINE Business ID, fill in the account form, confirm it, and finish in LINE Official Account Manager. Phone users follow the same flow in the LINE Official Account app.
Go to LINE's Official Account sign-up page and select Create a LINE Official Account.
Choose how to log in. With a LINE account, enter the email and password of your personal LINE account or scan the QR code with the LINE app. With email, enter your address and select the sign-up link LINE sends you.
For an email sign-up, open the email titled "Your signup link for LINE Business ID" and select Continue. Register your name and password, agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, then select Sign Up and confirm your details.
Fill in the required fields for your official account, check the Terms of Use and confirm what you entered.
Log in to LINE Official Account Manager to finish creating the account.
On a phone, download the LINE Official Account app, sign in or sign up with LINE or by email, then select Create an account and fill in the same details. If you sign in with the LINE app for the first time, LINE asks for a verification code.
What should you set up after the account is live?
After the account is live, open LINE Official Account Manager and set up your profile, your welcome message and your replies, then check your plan. Customers can add your account by scanning a QR code or opening a link, and you create both in LINE's manager, so share them where your customers already are.
Check the plan against your sending. A broadcast to 10,000 friends uses 10,000 messages, so a free allowance of a few hundred runs out fast.
How do you connect LINE to SleekFlow?
To connect LINE to SleekFlow, enable the Messaging API in LINE Official Account Manager, copy SleekFlow's webhook URL into LINE, then copy your Channel ID, Channel Secret and Basic ID back into SleekFlow. You need Admin access in SleekFlow, and you can connect one LINE Official Account to each SleekFlow account.
What are the connection steps?
Connecting takes 5 steps: enable the Messaging API in LINE, copy SleekFlow's webhook URL into LINE, copy three credentials back into SleekFlow, name the channel and select Connect. Follow the Help Center's connection guide for the exact screens.
In LINE Official Account Manager, open Settings, select Messaging API and select Enable Messaging API.
In SleekFlow, open Channels, find LINE Business and select Connect. Copy the webhook URL.
Paste the webhook URL into LINE Official Account Manager and save. Then update your response settings as the guide shows.
Copy the Channel ID, Channel Secret and Basic ID from the Messaging API section.
Paste them into the Connect LINE Business page in SleekFlow, add an internal channel name and select Connect.
Choose your provider carefully when you enable the Messaging API. LINE says you can't change or remove a provider once you assign one, and customers get different user IDs under different providers.
What are the limits of the LINE channel in SleekFlow?
SleekFlow's Help Center sets these limits for sending and receiving on LINE, so check them before you plan your replies and campaigns. Your LINE chats arrive in the same shared inbox as your other channels, and messages can't be edited or recalled after you send them.
You can send: text of at most 1,800 characters, documents, images, video and voice notes of at most 16MB each, product messages, emojis and payment links.
You can receive: text without bold or italic, images, voice notes and emojis.
Not supported: receiving locations, stickers and contacts.
Broadcasts: you can use the channel as a broadcast channel for marketing or announcement messages.
Sending window: you can message anyone who added your account at any time, and people who messaged you within the past 7 days.
What can SleekFlow add to your LINE business account?
SleekFlow's LINE page lists AI agents that reply around the clock, live chat for one to one conversations, rich media messages, broadcasts to segmented audiences, coupons and loyalty cards, and rich menus. Your team works from one shared inbox next to your other channels.
AI agents: they give instant replies, guide buyers through a purchase, collect lead details and hand complex chats to your team. You build them in AgentFlow.
Live chat: your team holds real-time one to one conversations with customers.
Rich media: you send images, videos, audio and interactive content.
Broadcasts: you send targeted messages to segmented audiences.
Coupons and loyalty cards: you create digital rewards and promotional campaigns.
Rich menus: you show a tappable menu at the bottom of the chat to guide what customers do next.
What should you do next?
Create the account, pick the plan that fits your monthly sends, and connect it when replies start to pile up. Replies don't count toward your quota, so a shared inbox with AI agents lets your team answer fast without raising your plan. Book a demo and see LINE in your team's shared inbox.
